*We are happy to welcome any well-behaved dogs on leads to Bailiffgate Museum & Gallery, especially our permanent Museum displays. However, there are certain times or temporary exhibitions in the gallery that are off-limits to dogs, e.g., if there is a school group visit, if textile wall hangings reach near to floor level or there are toys and games/ costumes at floor level. In those instances, we ask visitors with dogs to take turns to visit the upstairs gallery. If a visitor is alone with a dog, and the museum is not busy, some of our volunteers are happy to look after small dogs behind the front desk for a short time.
