Museums the world over are full of everyday objects that tell a story.
At one time the Miner’s lamp was an ordinary thing, a tool for everyday use, now, they are museum artefacts. They have little monetary value but tell us something about how we used to live and who we are. We want to know what objects you would put in your personal museum. Is there something you use every day that has sentimental value? A piece of kitchen equipment handed down from a long lost relative perhaps? Is your Christmas tree full of baubles of significance. Do you have toys from childhood, mementos from lost loves, a favourite t-shirt, newspaper clipping, wedding photograph?
For Alnwick Storyfest Dovecote Street Arts and People Make Alnwick will create a ‘Museum of Ordinary Things’ full of objects that are important to the people of our district.
Just bring your object and tell us its story.
No need to book (although you are welcome to if you wish so we know you’re coming!) . Free Entry. Refreshments Provided.
