Harry Hotspur was immortalised by Shakespeare and renowned throughout Europe for his daring exploits. Carol Dixon was born in Hotspur Place, Alnwick and grew up passing Hotspur Tower daily.  She is not a professional historian but has created this brief biography as a tribute to a character who “evokes the kind of local pride (in Alnwick) similar to that of Robin Hood around Norttingham”.

Chapters include Early Years, Military Training, The Battle of Otterburn, Expeditions Abroad, Bolinbrokes’s rebellion, Scotland and Wales, The Battle of Homildon, The Battle of Shrewsbury, Properties Held by the Percies and The Percies as Border Wardens.
