An exploratory study will consider the feasibility of turning Alnwick’s historic Northumberland Hall into a museum. Northumberland County Council, the Trustees of Bailiffgate Museum and Gallery and Alnwick Town Council have been in discussions about the possibility of relocating the Bailifgate Museum and Gallery into the more spacious Northumberland Hall in the centre of Alnwick.

Our history mice have been knitted by one of the museum’s Friends . She said she could knit one each night but didn’t want to sew them up, nor did she want to dress them ! So that became my job . Sewing up wasn’t too difficult, and I did them in groups of five

Bailiffgate Volunteers have kept the Museum going throughout lockdown and have demonstrated very clearly that heritage and culture are so important to people, no matter what is happening in the world. We have been delighted that local people, as well as national and international visitors to our Collections website have found articles, pictures and stories
