“There was so much included.. wonderful ” St Paul’s Primary
This amazing collection of costumes and reproduction Viking artefacts will allow KS1&2 pupils to immerse themselves in Viking life .
Not only their warrior life style but their farming ,trading and crafting skills will come to life . Their storytelling of the great Sagas will stimulate literacy skills . Making maps of their journeys will enhance world geography skills and discovering the items they traded will widen pupils understanding of the diversity of the Viking nations .
“The class enjoyed the range of resources included in the loan box. They loved/hated feeling the boar’s skin rug! The range and quality of books was great. Some children came in telling me they’d talked to their families about what they’d seen from the museum and had found out they were related to Vikings. They were thrilled! The simple but effective runes inspired some children to write their names and for me to make some of a similar size in cardboard. They all loved the huge shield! The loan box was a brilliant way to start our Year 3 and Year 4 Viking topic. Thank you so much”.
