Bailiffgate Volunteers have kept the Museum going throughout lockdown and have demonstrated very clearly that heritage and culture are so important to people, no matter what is happening in the world.
We have been delighted that local people, as well as national and international visitors to our Collections website have found articles, pictures and stories to fascinate them.
It’s an obvious thing to say, but much as we love being together and enjoy being in the Museum itself, volunteering does not have to be based in a building. We have learned to make better use of technology and to support everyone through telephone calls, conference videos and so forth.
If you have a short amount of time to give to volunteering and you are interested in what we do, please let us know. There are so many roles that could be undertaken from home, University or college. We need help with our website and technology in its broadest sense and we need new ideas to help us to make sure the Museum appeals to all ages. If you like what we do and want to be part of the award winning Bailiffgate team, get in touch and tell us what you would like to offer. We will do our best to find a role for you. If you want to join the ‘in-house’ team, we can make that happen.
