The Dam is a hauntingly well-illustrated tale of two musicians who break into and play in the buildings of the village lost for ever when Kielder Water, the largest artificial stretch of water in the UK, was created. A striking collaboration between two master creators it explores loss,  hope and the enduring power of music set against the wild and beautiful Northumbrian landscape.  Told to the author by Kathryn Tickell, who grew up to become a folk musician and composer of global renown.

A poignant collaboration”  Guardian
