Talk-7.30pm Tue 5th March 2019 “Northumberland Place Names” by Diane Whaley


Diana Whaley is a lecturer at Northumberland University. Her talk will cover the fascinating history and derivation of well-known, and not so well-known,  town and village names in our area.

Members of the NDFHS, including its Alnwick branch enjoy a range of benefits to help them discover more about their ancestors and hence who they “really are”. This includes access to a wide range of excellent speakers on Family History-related  issues and events

All evening meetings are on the FIRST TUESDAY of the month. They begin at 7.15pm with refreshments in Bailiffgate Museum, Alnwick. (speaker begins at 7.30pm).  Programme of Speakers 

Entry is free to members of the Northumberland and Durham Family History Society . Non-members  are always welcome to attend and there is no fixed charge. They will, however  be invited to make a donation of £2.50 towards refreshments and room hire costs 

 (Booking is not compulsory, but bookings do help us plan catering etc )
