Nel Hume

Lockdown meant the cancellation of exhibitions and I found it hard to feel motivated. Eventually the drive came back and I have enjoyed exploring and experimenting with new materials and ways of working. I have missed my visits to the art club and the support of the other artists and have felt isolated much of the time. My work has continued to reflect the themes which motivate me to paint. Restrictions have curtailed visits but the wild seascapes and landscapes of Northumberland and Yorkshire still provide endless pleasure in exploring abstracted shape, space, light, form and mood.
