In the Valley of the Sacred Mountain

Author: Paul Frodsham

Upper Coquetdale is one of the most stunning areas of Northumberland. It is also an area steeped in history, with ancient rock carvings, burial mounds, hillforts, Roman camps and field systems.

Paul  Frodsham  has long been fascinated by this area, giving talks on its history and traditions. He has now gathered his work together in this excellent book. He speculates on what life would have been like in the valley in the distant past. He also argues that the area itself was of immense cultural significance, with one site perhaps functioning as a sacred mountain in prehistoric times.
