Carmen Gordon-Cheviot Dawn
Acrylic on paper framed 52x42cm
The importance of home has been a huge feature of the pandemic lockdowns. I am lucky that everything here is seen either from my house or in the hay fields at the back. During the first lockdown I was obsessed by the Spring and all the new growth in the fields. Those paintings seem so fresh and full of light. As the pandemic and seasons have continued, darkness has started to creep in, with brooding skies over midsummer meadows and streaks of light midst dramatic skies. The paintings and my mood have become darker, but I am glad to see that I am hanging on to some light and hope.
