Finding Meaning - The Felton Art Group
Welcome to Bailiffgate Museum & Gallery’s first online exhibition. Bailiffgate has been promoting the work of local and national artists for many years and when lockdown closed our doors we were determined to continue showcasing their fabulous work. Our volunteers and Felton Art Group have worked exceptionally hard to bring this first virtual exhibition to you to enjoy from the comfort of your own home. - Jean Humphrys, Chair of the Trustees, Bailiffgate Museum & Gallery
The Felton Art Group has been run by Jo Hume for over 20 years with a philosophy centred on developing each artists’ expressive visual language on topics close to their hearts. The group has 24 members and are a merry band supporting and sharing ideas as they play, experiment and create. The range and types of outcomes vary from realistic to abstract with every shade in between. Some are beginners while others are established artists.
The art in this online exhibition has been produced in unprecedented times. There has been no contact with each other for almost a year other than a WhatsApp social group for a small number of people. Many have found the isolation, shielding and anxiety it has brought difficult to deal with and have found it hard to be creative without the social contact and support in the group and only a few of the group’s artists are represented here. - Jo Hume, Felton Art Group
- All artwork is for sale unless it is priced £0.00, in which case it is not for sale.
- Artwork will be available to buy for the duration of the exhibition.
