Background:
Born about 1888 at Denwick, Alnwick, Northumberland, the son of Elizabeth Margaret Wallace (b. 1864, at Denwick, Northumberland, of 19, Narrowgate Street, Alnwick, & the late Robert Wallace. The 1911 Census records Wallace's occupation as Printer Journeyman, Newspaper Letterpress. The Census has his year of birth as 1890.
