Alnwick Castle is one of the largest inhabited castles in England. It has witnessed drama, intrigue, tragedy and romance, and has been home to a variety of interesting people – from Harry Hotspur to Harry Potter. Admire the one of the country’s finest private collections of art and furniture in the treasure-filled State Rooms, including works by Titian, Canaletto and Van Dyck, and join a guided tour to find out about the castle’s history and starring film roles.

From dragon-slaying to Potter-inspired magic, a visit to Alnwick Castle fires the imagination. Enjoy performances from a variety of visiting characters, including famous wizards and master falconers, and join our resident wizarding professors for broomstick training on the very spot of Harry’s first lesson. Children can dress as knights and ladies of the realm in the medieval marketplace of Knight’s Quest and become artisan apprentices with the free daily craft activities. Only the bravest should then enter the dark lair of Dragon Quest before coming face-to-face with Northumberland’s most fearsome dragon.
