From the natural history exhibition held in the summer......

We still have a number of natural history books on sale, and a few cuddly soft toys which have proved extremely popular. Come along and see for yourself - you won't be able to leave without one!

Books still on sale include Wild Northumberland, being an informative in depth guide to Northumberland's special wildlife and a bargain at £7.99 (RRP £9.99) and Birdwatching On The Northumberland Coast, launched this summer, which gives insider tips on all year birdwatching on Northumberland's Coast. A good companion to this publication is the re-issued Northumberland Coast Path Official Guide book, also for sale in the Museum shop. Both books are published by the Northumberland Coast AONB Partnership.

For young budding naturalists, we have a number of I Spy books on sale - from Creepy Crawlies to Trees to Rocks and Minerals. The bird books by Matt Sewell are beautifully illustrated with interesting and quirky text about various native birds - Owls, Songbirds and Woodland Birds. Matt's work, including these books, was featured on Countryfile on Sunday 18th September.

For those few wet days, we have a number of colouring books for purchase - Birds, Butterflies and Woodland Wildlife and activity books, including Insect and Butterfly Sticker Books.

The soft toys have proved very popular, especially the mini nature buddies at £3.25. The Keycraft Living Nature range have Fact Tags accompanying each item with unique facts about each animal - puffins, otters, rabbits, bats, kingfishers, hedgehogs, squirrels, owls and grey seal pups.

We still have some handcrafted british wildlife wood keyrings which are ideal pocket money purchases.
