Medieval Family Life 

 

David Silk is Learning Officer at Newcastle Castle. He has been a freelance speaker on History and Culture and talked at many museums and historical sites around the North East. 

David will introduce us to the development of family life in this area during medieval  times from the point of view of both the nobility and ordinary peasants. He will also look at the rise of certain well-known border families.

 

 

 

Members of the NDFHS, including its Alnwick branch enjoy a range of benefits to help them discover more about their ancestors and hence who they "really are". This includes access to a wide range of excellent speakers on Family History-related  issues and events

All evening meetings are on the FIRST TUESDAY of the month. They begin at 7.15pm with refreshments in Bailiffgate Museum, Alnwick. (speaker begins at 7.30pm).  Programme of Speakers 

 

Entry is free to members of the Northumberland and Durham Family History Society www.ndfhs.org.uk . Non-members  are always welcome to attend and there is no fixed charge. They will, however  be invited to make a donation of £2.50 towards refreshments and room hire costs .

Free refreshments are included in your entry.
